These are conica morels, also known as fire morels. They range from 1 inch to 2 1/2 inches. They are single walled, so they are not thick like the other morels.
Morels, also known as Morchella, sponge mushroom, pinecone mushroom and more are a delicacy with many uses; fried, stuffed and baked, added to sauces, sautéed, stir fried and many other uses. The dried morel reconstitutes very well, coming back to its original form very well. It takes 7 pounds of fresh morels to make 1 pound of dried. These morels are wild harvested; no chemicals or pesticides are used. They are NOT genetically modified.
To Reconstitute: Soak in 3 cups of water or liquid per ounce of dried morels for 35 minutes or overnight. When they are fully reconstituted, strain through a coffee filter or paper towel and retain the liquid for your recipe or future use. Pat dry and use like fresh.
