I and friends and family are enjoying the mushrooms you sent.  The Matsutake are absolutely beautiful, and add a subtle dimension to many of the dishes I'm preparing for people.  The King Trumpet mushrooms are turning out to be a shock to many people I know - I'm surprised, but they've never had them before.  So, I'm glad that their first experience with them has been with the perfectly fresh ones you sent me, rather 
than the less fresh ones available at an oriental store a county away from here.  I've sautéed them, and grilled them over charcoal, and their flavor and texture are perfect. Likewise the Chanterelles.  I did a Rissotto with a combination of Chanterelles, Lobster, and a touch of Matsutake, and served sautéed chanterelles on the side.  It was  spectacular I was happy with the lobsters I could incorporate into dishes.  I really did enjoy the ones that were fresh enough to cook.  I love lobster mushrooms! Thanks again for providing these wonderful mushrooms.  I look forward to Spring!-John

OMG!!! Magically wonderful, beautiful,Lovely, Tasty fresh Morel mushrooms showed up at door this morning behind the startlingly loud knock of FedEx. I opened the box, opened all the bags and stuck my nose in for a smell and it was all about the earth, I could almost smell the mountains of the great north west from which they grew, beautiful. What a way to start a day. So, I cleaned a bunch of those shrooms,put a little S&P on them and fried them in butter and olive oil *what a treat* plain and simple, pure. A glorious breakfast I have to say. A dream come true.

Hi Christina, I want to thank you for the shipment of mushrooms.  They arrived in
excellent condition on Tuesday morning, but the paper bags were moist so
I re-bagged them.  A friend of mine had his birthday on Wednesday, so I invited him and another friend for lunch and made braised mushrooms and a grilled veal roast with a truffle cream sauce.  They were blown away.  There's really nothing like fresh wild mushrooms!  Tomorrow morning we're making an omelet with truffles, black trumpet and morel mushrooms (that'll finish the morels).  I'll freeze a couple of truffles to use at a wine tasting we're hosting on the 16th, and make a mushroom soup with the rest. I can't tell you how happy I am that I discovered your web site!  I'm especially fond of lobster mushrooms and am looking forward to ordering a few pounds of them when they come in season.Thank you! I used to hunt and eat morel mushrooms when I lived in Indiana, since I moved to Arizona 8 years ago I haven't had any morel mushrooms. I googled morels and found you. We ordered fresh morels last Spring and they were wonderful.  Didn’t remember how delicious they are.  They came well-packed and on the date I requested.  You can be assured we will be ordering at the earliest opportunity this Spring.  We also ordered dried morels and dried mixed mushrooms from Oregon Mushrooms.  Some are absolutely huge and when reconstituted wonderful.  My husband enjoys them in a mushroom and leek strudel!  Oh so yummy and such great customer service.

 I just got my order for 10 lbs of fresh morels mushrooms.I must tell you I had my doubts about buying on-line.I tried that a few years ago (from another company) and the whole box was full of fly eggs and the shrooms smelled like ammonia.I have hunted shrooms my whole life in northern Illinois and this has been the worst year I have ever had. The bottom line is the shrooms arrived in great condition !!!!!!!!!!!!! I will buy from you again in the fall.I can't thank you enough. Thanks again Ron

Hi Chris and Scott,  I just wanted to send a quick note of appreciation for your DELICIOUS fresh morels.  My dad who lives in PA ordered some from you for the first time a couple weeks ago.  He had always ordered them from a place in Wisconsin, but this year his shipment from there was way below average.  Many of them were small, broken, or just no good.  Yours, on the other hand, were plump, plentiful, and full of flavor.  I live in Oregon and found your website last year when looking for Christmas stuff, and got my dad a gift certificate from you.  I got the chance to fly home to Pittsburgh last week with my husband and it just so happened to be the time that my dad purchased your morels...so we had a "mushroom party" (my dad lightly breads the morels in cracker meal, fries them, and sprinkles them with some popcorn salt, garlic and onion powder).  The whole familiy enjoyed them.  I miss those tasty morels already!

 I am just curious about how long your morel season usually lasts?  Do you keep picking them through June?

NAMEKO MUSHROOMS

Hi again, I received my mushroom shipment yesterday and began making dishes from them today. I had some close friends over and cooked the black trumpet and chanterelle mushrooms in a cream sauce with shaved black truffles. It was beautiful. The biggest surprise, even to me, was a consomme I made with the trimmings and small specimens of the chanterelle, black trumpet, and a heaping dose of the nameko mushrooms, I seasoned the stock nicely, but the shock was the richness of the consomme, mainly due to the nameko mushrooms. I've had no previous experience of them but am now glad to have them in my repertoire, thanks to you. I would never in life have seen them here where I live. They gave the consomme a richness I would compare with veal stock, though it is a vegeterian dish. My eyes have been opened. Thank you so much. John

This will be somewhat of an unusual review, but, In 1978 (I was 15 1/2) my family moved from Northern IN, to Central Arkansas and we haven't had a morel mushroom since!  I bought these on a whim for my mother and I, as many months ago we were thinking about  the simplier days of our youth and mushroom hunting was a part of all of our lives.  

 
Not only did they arrive quickly and were packaged great and tasted even better, but the memories of hunting mushrooms in Huff's Woods in Wabash County, IN came flooding back. We ordered fresh morels last Spring and they were wonderful.  Didn’t remember how delicious they are.  They came well-packed and on the date I requested.  You can be assured we will be ordering at the earliest opportunity this Spring.  We also ordered dried morels and dried mixed mushrooms from Oregon Mushrooms.  Some are absolutely huge and when reconstituted wonderful.  My husband enjoys them in a mushroom and leek strudel!  Oh so yummy and such great customer service.

Wow!  My dried wild mushrooms just arrived this morning, and am I pleasantly surprised.  The chanterelles are lovely, the morels smell wonderful (a scent that I personally think is better than truffles), but it's the porcinis that have really blown me away.  I expected small pieces and badly sliced caps, but these are all a great size and obviously very carefully sliced and dried.  I'll be singing your praises to everyone I know who cooks and loves great mushrooms.  Your website has now been bookmarked on my computer.  I look forward from ordering from your company again in the future. Thanks again, Mary L

I am more than happy to recommend this website for wonderful mushrooms. I have only purchased the morels, but they were perfect and wonderful.

A few weeks before Christmas I decided to make a Pork Loin with Morel Stuffing and Morel Sauce for Christmas dinner (Epicurious.com) - all of the feedback on their website raved and raved about the roast. I couldn't find morels in my local markets, but several cooks who had responded recommended Ebay so I tried there and, after comparing several sellers, selected Oregon Mushrooms.

Here's where the "human" touch comes in...I ordered my mushrooms, only to have my computer crash! I had no Pay Pal, no anything. The next day I emailed Christina from my office explaining my problem...told her I'd have to send a personal check (please save my morels!) and I'd wait for it to clear. She was darling and assured me that all was ok...a week later my mushrooms arrived...absolutely beautiful and delicious! ...and the pork roast was to DIE for - try it!

This was the first time I tried dried matsutake mushrooms. They are hard to find fresh and impossible to find dried....and always expensive. Matsutake is used frequently to flavor sophisticated Japanese soup and rice dishes. These mushrooms were great in imparting excellent aroma and flavor equivalent to fresh matsutake. Great for storing when you need them and at a reasonable price. ~santos

I've enjoyed the dried morrel mushrooms and I think they are a good buy, I'll get more when I run out. I use them in demi-glaci (a french mother sauce). I just pop them in dry and in 15-20 minutes on low heat they're rehydrated and tender. I can't wait to get the fresh morells in season - please email me when I can get some. It isn't often I find myself penning words of praise to on-line companies but Oregon Mushrooms is an exception I am glad to make.

My 2nd order just arrived and I can smell the delicious aroma of imported Italian Porcini's coming through the packaging.

You are a true culinary find! I have sampled your fresh and your frozen and they have NOT left me wanting. I have over 25 years experience in food service so I have a clue. You all are the real deal & when you think of the expense of eating out or trying to find specialty items in the high ticket stores like Whole Foods, Sprout's, or Lunardi's your prices including shipping are very reasonable. Your availability and selection of fresh or frozen is great. When fresh aren't available there's frozen and a frozen Italian Porcini is light years ahead of a fresh button or Crimini. Your fresh Oregon shrooms and truffles are also fresh and delicious.

The bottom line is "high quality, great value, & great service". I spoke to you yesterday...my Porcini's are here today & I will enjoy them tonite!
