Dried Sliced Reishi

Dried Sliced Reishi

The mushroom body is too woody to be consumed thus all recipes call for the cooking or soaking out of the beneficial properties. Here is a link to more information on reishi.

We also carry whole reishi, reishi powder and reishi extract powder

You can also search “reishi recipes” online for other preparation methods.

To use: add 2 whole reishi or a handful of slice reishi (about 10-15 pieces) to 8-10 cups of water and follow instructions below:

1.     The dried Reishi mushroom slices or whole reishi can be soaked overnight in water, then boiled (with the water) for 5-10 minutes, Strain and enjoy.

2.        Bring water to a boil and simmer for 2-3 hours. The bitter taste can be overcome by adding honey or juice (grape, cranberry etc.). Tea can be stored in the fridge for 3-4 days and served warm or cold. Do not use an aluminum pan for preparation.  You can experiment, and add to broth or soups if you enjoy the flavor. The flavor of the tea is very bitter, so experiment to find the best way to drink it. Just keep in mind the benefits of this drink.

3.        Take a vitamin C supplement or fruit right before you drink it for the best benefits

My personal way to drink this is either take a shot glass and drink 4 shots a day, or heat it up in a coffee cup, stir in honey and lemon juice or whatever you want to add. Nothing you add will reduce the benefits of this tea.

Reishi is best taken in the morning with an empty stomach. Drinking more water will also help enhance the effects of Reishi by helping the body get rid of poisonous waste. It is also recommended to take Vitamin C with Reishi as this will assist the body in absorbing the active ingredients in Reishi. Studies have shown that Vitamin C helps break down the complex polysaccarides into smaller manageable pieces that the body can intake. There are alot of benefits to this super beneficial mushroom!

Preparation

Lingzhi is traditionally prepared by simmering in water  in a stainless steel or ceramic pot. Don't use aluminum for such a prolonged boiling process. Thinly sliced or whole lingzhi is added to a pot of boiling water (about 2 whole mushrooms or 10-15 pieces for sliced per 8 cups of water),the water is then brought to a simmer, and the pot is covered; the lingzhi is then simmered for two hours. The resulting liquid should be fairly bitter in taste, with the more active red lingzhi more bitter than the black. The process may be repeated. Alternatively, it can be used as an ingredient in a formula decoction or used to make an extract (in liquid form) The more active red forms of lingzhi are far too bitter to be consumed in a soup, as long cooked dried shitake mushrooms might be.

Here is a "how to" do an alcohol extraction for the best benefits (you can use whole, powdered, or sliced reishi)

Reishi, Ganoderma lucidum, Lingzhi,  hangul, dried Reishi, dried ganoderma, whole reishi, sliced reishi, buy reishi, whole ganoderma, whole lingzhi, reishi for sale, reishi mushroom, best reishi, reishi ganoderma, 靈芝 ,  灵芝

Side effects RARE! It has been shown in some studies that long term use of Lingzhi (usually four months or so) can result in some mild side effects, including dryness of the nasal passages, mouth and throat, as well as stomach upset and nosebleed. However, these effects were avoided by discontinuing use of the mushroom for one month after taking it for four months, and taking it again for four months and so on.
